Project Purpose:
- To educate the public on the role of Boatswain's Beach (Cayman Turtle Farm) as a center and resource for marine conservation, research and education.
- To raise awareness of the plight of marine turtles in the wild, and of the impending contributions of captive rearing to the conservation of this and other endangered species.
- To provide the benefactor with an opportunity or means to become more directly involved in conservation by joining Boatswain's Beach (Cayman Turtle Farm) in the promotion and protection of this resource.
- To provide the benefactor with a means of connecting with the wildlife and contributing to their conservation even from a distance.
Your sponsorship and donations will help to support the work of Boatswain's Beach (Cayman Turtle Farm) and other organizations concerned with the survival of sea turtles and their marine habitat.
You are invited to name your adopted turtle (to put on the Adoption Certificate). The Certificate will have space to print the name of the turtle and includes a statement on behalf of Boatswain's Beach (Cayman Turtle Farm) thanking them for their contribution to marine turtle and habitat conservation. It should be proudly displayed in a prominent place for everyone to see. The sponsor will receive an informative slide presentation (20-30 minutes) on the background of Cayman Turtle Farm and the role it plays in conservation.
As the new "Parents", you can organize a free visit to Boatswain's Beach (Cayman Turtle Farm) to check on your turtle's progress as well as experience what else the Park has to offer. You can also organize a night visit during the sea turtle nesting season (May thru September) where you may be lucky enough to see your turtle lay eggs.
Most importantly, you can do your part in the conservation of these magnificent, ancient animals by educating your friends, family, and co workers about the plight of sea turtles and their marine habitat and so help out your adopted turtle and Boatswain's Beach (Cayman Turtle Farm) in their efforts to secure the future of wild sea turtles and their ocean habitat.
