Joseph Ebanks
Mr. Ebanks has led Boatswain's Beach since March 2007 and is responsible for the business units within the company. These areas include Finance, Human Resource, Tours, Visitor Services, IT, and Marketing. A dynamic leader, he last held the position of Customer Service Manager at Caribbean Utilities Company and assumed many cross functional duties including Corporate Communications, Marketing, and Energy Smart Coordinator. Mr. Ebanks has an MBA and previously owned and operated Sports Headquarters (Sports Retail).
Chief Scientific Officer
Joe Parsons
Mr. Parsons started working part time with the company during school holidays in 1970 and has been associated with the company eversince, working fulltime for over 18 years now. Mr. Parsons is responsible for the Terrestrial and Educations as well as Marine and Research Units. He has a Bachelor of Biological Science degree with an emphasis on Marine Biology. Mr. Parsons has two children.
General Manager – Operations
Christopher Jackson
Mr. Jackson joined the company in January 1998 and is responsible for the Operations Unit. He was previously employed by Kirkconnell Brothers Ltd and worked at Kirk Marine as Master Technician. Mr. Jackson achieved his Master Technicians Diploma from Outboard Motor Corporation in 1987, one of the few people in the Caribbean to achieve this. He is also the proud father of four children.
Marketing Manager
Calicia Burke
Ms. Burke joined the company in 2006 as Marketing officer and was promoted Communications officer prior to her appointment as Acting Marketing Manager Ms. Burke held the position of Investment Analyst at the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA). She received her Bachelors degree in Business Management with a concentration in International Business and Marketing at Fairleigh Dickinson University in the USA. Ms. Burke possesses a Certificate in Project Management from the University College of the Cayman Islands and is about to pursue a Master’s Degree online. In her post, she is responsible for Media Relations, Direct Marketing, Travel Agent and Wholesaler Liaison, Website Supervision and Tours. Ms. Burke also supervises and maintains Cayman Street’s vendors and entertainers.
Retail Manager
Mary McCoy
Now on her 16th year with the company, Ms. McCoy rose through the ranks from Cashier, Head Cashier to Retail Manager. She is in charge of overseeing the day-to-day operations of Splash - Boatswain's Beach souvenir and gift shop. Her duties include purchasing merchandise, managing staff at the store, dealing with suppliers and customers, and sometimes, tending the cash register. Ms McCoy is at the helm of developing the retail store and upgrading their lines to better quality, high end products.
Tour Operations Manager
Raymond Hydes
Mr. Hydes joined the company in April of 2004 as Civil Works Coordinator during the construction phase of the Boatswain's Beach project. Prior to this appointment, Mr. Hydes was Managing Director of Thrifty Car Rental, a business he owned and operated for ten years. He attended Miami Dade Community College studying Business Administration. Mr. Hydes has over twenty years of experience in the tourism industry is responsible for the development of contract agreements and partnerships with the cruise lines, management of the transportation sector and he is also the company's Safety Officer.
Food Services Manager
Joelle McCrae
Mr. McCrae joined the company in June of 2005. He is responsible for the management and daily operations of the food and beverage facilities at Boatswain’s Beach. He is honed by 29 years of experience, having worked in various capacities in major hotels as well as owning and operating businesses. Mr. McCrae strives to continue improving efficiency, productivity and service while at the same time controlling costs and utilizing limited financial and human resources.
